Handwriting instruction remains a vital component of early literacy development, as evidenced by research from Fisher & Frey (2014) regarding the importance of motor skills in cognitive processing. This worksheet targets CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.1 by providing 26 specific opportunities for students to practice uppercase cursive letter formation. Systematic tracing helps bridge the gap between recognizing letter shapes and producing them fluently. According to recent pedagogical analyses, consistent practice with dotted guidelines reduces cognitive load, allowing students to focus entirely on the physical mechanics of the pen. This resource offers a structured, distraction-free environment for that essential practice. By integrating this tool into a daily routine, educators can ensure that students meet handwriting benchmarks while building the stamina needed for longer compositions. The clear layout and standard-aligned focus make it a reliable addition to any primary writing curriculum.
